In his project Voide, Cologne-based composer Axel Schmidt spans an arc from a lyrical, melancholic basic tone to rhythmic intensification. His music focuses on the balance between space and closeness, distance and intimacy. This combines influences from minimal music, northern folk, contemporary classical music and ambient.
An evening of solo piano, based on his less records release Milkwood, a collection of piano miniatures. The title of the project is inspired by Dylan Thomas‘ radio play „Under Milk Wood“, which combines several voices, speech melodies, images and onomatopoeia and provides an inspirational framework for the musical journey.
